THE LIST OF HATE

The official List of Hate is introduced | Lilou is not a people person | They agree

John: So, today we are going to list the things we hate the most within the fields of culture, entertainment, society, travel and design, in other words the areas of study this blog covers. Let us begin with culture. Your number one hate object, please?

Lilou: I don’t hate anything, but I dislike plenty of stuff.

John: Oh dear, but my beautiful little cake with blueberry and honey, “the list of things we dislike” doesn’t sound anywhere near as dramatic as “the list of hate”, so please try and hate something, for me at least, ok sweetie?

Lilou: I give it a try dear.

John: Thank you. So. Culture?

Lilou: I hate everything fake in culture.

John: Splendid. Me too. Except Marty Robbins. How about entertainment?

Lilou: I hate it when it’s too predictable.

John: Me too again. Except country music.

Lilou: I hate country music.

John: Fair enough. Let us not venture deeper into that particular…

Lilou: …perhaps we should renew country music as well, so that I actually like it.

John: A great idea. But the question right now, is what do you hate when it comes to travel?.

Lilou: The people. Having to be close to other people. And the waiting. Always the waiting for stuff. Boarding the air plane, going through customs, waiting for breakfast et cetera et cetera. I want it now, preferably without other people involved, if possible.

John: That was a lot of hate.

Lilou: Dislike, dear. Dislike. And contempt.

John: Unfortunately I must agree when it comes to people. Some of them are quite okay but most people are exactly like those posh middle class people we already have too many of here, which is a shame. But let us move on and talk about design we hate.

Lilou: Design without thought or pretentious design. Design made by people who doesn’t know their limitations. It’s like they say in Masterchef: if you know it’s no good, don’t serve it.

John: I agree. I hate design that is derived from the ideological viewpoint of “Bolibompa” as we say in Sweden.

Lilou: You go more for the message than the actual design then?

John: I guess I am more of a “message-guy”.

Lilou: I think people can tell from your lyrics, dear.

John: Perhaps, my little sexy Fash-Chimaira. How about society? What do you hate?

Lilou: In general or Swedish society?

John: You choose and I will follow.

Lilou: Society consists of people and I am not a people person.

John: Everything then.

Lilou: Pretty much. But I felt safe in Poland. And a society should at least provide safety.

John: Otherwise it is a bit weird to call it “society”. It is more of some kind of semi-organized brawl.

Lilou: I agree.
